Interviews: Eli Roth

Eli Roth is getting absolutely smothered in attention this month with Hostel 2 coming out this Friday (June 8th.) I've linked to at least two other interviews so far, and there's two more (which includes this one) coming from Ain't it Cool News. I've made my feelings about torture porn quite clear, but I seriously want to reiterate how much I respect Eli Roth. He's a very fine film maker, I just don't care for his last two projects is all.

That said, I love interviews with film makers, and there's no treat better than somebody who genuniely loves films asking the questions. You get that from AICN, you don't get that from Reuters or E!. What makes it better is that the guys from AICN have visited the set during production. Like these particular films or not, how cool would that have been?

Capone: And I should applaud you for really exploring the homo-erotic themes that were only hinted at in the first film.

Eli Roth: Getting some lesbionics.

Capone: And a shocking amount of cock as well.

Eli Roth: There's a lot of sausage.

Won't see that in Variety. Read the whole thing. Roth may be a twisted bastard, but he knows exactly what he's doing.
