Thomas Jane on Punisher 2: I'm Out

With the upfronts keeping everyone busy, there isn't much time or energy left over for the features and coverage of things that might otherwise be leading stories such as this one. Quint of AICN had a chat with Thomas Jane on the set of his new film, The Mist. Jane later sent Quint a note that announced his intention to bow out of the sequel.

Quint,

I’m writing to tell you that I regretfully and painfully had to pull out of P2. I can’t tell you how completely broken up I am about it. After busting my ass at the gym four days a week for almost two years, ...

No surprise, really. The first film wasn't much to write home about, and he just didn't want to go through the extensive physical training and all that again when the sequel was going to be as unfaithful -- if not more so -- than the first film was.

Good for him. Read his entire note over at AICN.

  • ABC isn't 100% satisfied with Grey's spinoff Private Practice.
  • Indiana Jones 4 is set to begin shooting next month in Connecticut. Henry Jones (Shawn Connery) is written into the script, but they haven't signed Connery, and they are shooting in a month? I'd be crapping bricks if I were the studio right now.
  • 20 years later (our time) Point Break 2 is coming. Geez, has it really been that long?
  • Comic house Dark Horse is partnering with Hyde Park Entertainment to bring more of their content to the silver screen with small budget indies.
  • George Lopez ain't happy his show got cut by ABC.
