From DailyKos..

Length of the U.S. invasion and occupation of Iraq so far: 1,253 days
Length of U.S. involvement in World War II: 1,244 days

And a whole bunch of George Bush's lies in 2002..
"This is a person who has had contacts with al Qaeda."
"He's got connections with al Qaeda."
"This is a guy who has had connections with these shadowy terrorist networks."
"We know he's got ties with al Qaeda."
"We know that he's had connections with al Qaeda."
"He's had connections with shadowy terrorist networks like al Qaeda."
"We know that he has had contacts with terrorist networks like al Qaeda."
"This is a man who has had contacts with al Qaeda."
"This is a man who has had al Qaeda connections."
"He's had contacts with al Qaeda."
"This is a man who has got connections with al Qaeda."
This year, two days ago:
Question: What did Iraq have to do with that?
70% of this country still believes that Saddam had something to do with September 11th, because this man lies, and there are zero consequences for it. Treason is too good for this man. The place where he's headed when his time comes is going to be far, far worse than what he deserves from a court of justice.

Really, how do you figure this? The occupation of Germany continued until 1949 and that of Japan until 1952, and we have troops stationed in both countries to this day. Shouldn't you really compare apples to apples?
